The Santa Fe Writer’s Project Literary Awards: Since 2000, the Santa Fe Writers Project has recognized excellence in writing, judged by National Book Critics Circle Award-winner and NBA finalist Jayne Anne Phillips, two-time NEA fellow and Hemingway Award finalist Richard Currey, Granta “best novelist under 40” and Guggenheim fellow Chris Offutt, popular essayist Ayun Halliday, Pulitzer prize-winner Robert Olen Butler, and the “Queen of the Zines,” Pagan Kennedy.

The Eric Hoffer First Horizon Awards: The Eric Hoffer Award for short prose and books was established at the start of the 21st century as a means of opening a door to writing of significant merit. It honors the memory of the great American philosopher Eric Hoffer by highlighting salient writing, as well as the independent spirit of small publishers. The winning stories and essays are published in Best New Writing, and the book awards are covered in the US Review of Books. The First Horizon Award is for authors who have published their first book.

Readers Favorite Awards: Readers Favorite is the fastest growing book review and award contest site on the Internet. It has earned the respect of renowned publishers like Random House, Penguin and Harper Collins, and has received the Best Websites for Authors and Honoring Excellence awards from the Association of Independent Authors. In addition to providing free reviews to authors who range from the first-time self-published author to seasoned professionals like James Patterson and Nicholas Sparks, It hosts a respected annual award contest to help authors obtain more recognition and exposure.

Indie Excellence Awards: This national award, based in Los Angeles, CA is open to all English language books including small presses, university presses, independent publishers and self-published authors. The competition is judged by independent experts from all aspects of the indie book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters. They select award winners and finalists based on overall excellence of presentation.
